Rana is the President and CEO of Blue Lagoon Resources Inc., a mineral exploration company focused on the acquisition, exploration, and development of properties for the mining of gold and other minerals. He is the Founder of the 100 Year Journey, a community project committed to preserving the stories of the South Asian pioneers that helped build Canada. In 1993, he founded and published Mehfil Magazine, the first full-colour Canadian South Asian lifestyle magazine. Rana is the former Chair of the BC Open Learning Agency and was the Executive Vice President at RTN Stealth Software. He was the President and CEO of Musgrove Minerals Corp and Chairman of the Board and CEO of Continental Precious Minerals.

    As a driven leader with an entrepreneurial mindset, Jai is no stranger to the world of B2B sales. After attaining a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Langara, Jai proceeded to graduate from the esteemed Queen’s University Master of Management Innovation & Entrepreneurship program, specializing in corporate innovation. His unwavering commitment to achieving excellence and exceeding objectives did not stop with his experience at Fortune 500 companies. He is currently serving as a Commercial Client Manager for Western Canada at IBM. After being the VP Corporate Relations of the Young Investor Program Canada for the past five years—a not-for-profit organization dedicated to teaching financial literacy skills to youth—Jai now sits on the Board as a Senior Advisor helping to strategically grow the program. Jai strives to make the conversation surrounding financial literacy and investing in one’s future a priority amongst youth across the nation. He now channels his passion for giving back to the business community, that awarded him “Mentee of the Year” during his undergraduate studies, by mentoring students as a Vancouver Board of Trade Leaders of Tomorrow mentor.

  • Linda Arnold

    Linda Arnold

    Retired Employee | Degree Program Champion

    Linda was the Associate Vice-President, Academic at Langara. Starting as an instructor in the Department of Physical Education, Recreation and Athletics, Linda primarily taught outdoor recreation, park planning and management, leadership, and other curriculum. She later became the Department Chair, Division Chair, and the Dean of Instruction. During her time at the College, she played a critical role in establishing the College’s first baccalaureate degree program, the Bachelor of Science in Nursing; in the creation of the inter-institutional Bachelor of Performing Arts program; and supported the development of the Bachelor of Recreation Management program. She was also involved in the establishment of a number of non-degree certificate and diploma programs. Linda was a long-time contributing member of the Langara Council and Langara Education Council. She was part of the Langara Faculty Board of Directors and the Association’s bargaining team that established Langara as an independent public post-secondary institution.

    Stephen is currently the CEO of Musqueam Capital Corporation, where he has been a key part of Musqueam’s successful economic ventures. Previously, he was Musqueam’s Chief Financial Officer and has also held senior leadership roles in various public and private companies. He received his CPA, CMA designation in 1995 and was awarded Fellow of CPA and CMA Canada (FCPA, FCMA) in 2009. He currently serves on the Board of the Langara College Foundation and has held past roles on other boards including Chair and Treasurer of the Certified Management Accountants of British Columbia. Stephen is also a part-time instructor in UBC’s Master of Health Administration program. He has been a past moderator in both the CMA and Executive CMA Strategic Leadership programs.
