Community Day Random Draw Contest Rules

No purchase necessary.  Participation in this contest constitutes your full and unconditional acceptance of, and agreement to be legally bound by, these contest rules. Entrants under the legal age of majority are eligible to win provided that the winning entrant’s parent or legal guardian accepts the prize on his/her behalf. Correct answer to a skill-testing question required to win.

Those whose names are drawn (“Selected Entrants”) will be notified within five (5) business days of the draw date. The Selected Entrant or parent/guardian will need to bring valid photo ID.

The Grand Prize Winner’s name will be published once the contest closes. By entering this contest, you are giving Langara College permission to collect and publish your name on the College’s owned media properties and social media, if you are selected.

    Entry is eligible for Canadian residents of all provinces and territories excluding Quebec. The Contest is void where prohibited by law.
    Contest Period: The Contest begins once published on the Community Day website – and closes at the end of the Community Day event on June 15, 2019 at 5:00 pm.

During the Contest Period you must follow the below requirements, which constitute an “Entry”:

  1. Fill out the online form.
  2. The Entrant must physically be present to check-in on Community Day either at an info tent, welcome kiosk, or at the Langaran Lounge

There is a limit of one entry per person. Only one prize will be awarded per Entry. Multiple entries by the same Entrant using different email addresses shall result in disqualification.

    A random draw from all eligible entries received will take place on or within the week after the end of Community Day. The first name drawn is eligible to win the contest’s Grand Prize. The subsequent names drawn will be eligible to win the runner-up prizes. Odds of winning are dependent upon the number of eligible entries received.
    b. The Selected Entrant will be notified by phone or email and will be required to promptly respond within one (1) business day of notification and provide Langara College with a contact phone number. The Selected Entrants are required to correctly answer a skill-testing question and demonstrate that they have complied with all the Community Day contest rules.
    c. Neither Langara College nor its affiliates will be responsible for the failure of selected Entrants not being able to receive notification or respond as prescribed above.
  1. PRIZES:
    Prizes must be accepted as awarded and cannot be transferred, substituted or redeemed for cash. Langara College or its affiliates reserve the right, in their sole discretion, to substitute any and all of the prizes for prizes of equal or greater value should all or part of a prize become unavailable for any reason. Langara College is intending on having the prizes distributed the week following Community Day. Langara disclaims all liability and provides no warranties with respect to the prizes awarded in respect of this contest and winners acknowledge that prizes must be accepted as awarded.
    a. All entries become property of Langara College and there will be no further correspondence except with selected Entrants.
    b. Any attempt to deliberately undermine the legitimate operation of this Contest is a violation of criminal and civil laws and, should such an attempt be made, Langara College reserves the right to seek remedies and damages to the fullest extent permitted by law, including criminal prosecution.
    c. Entries are subject to verification and will be declared invalid if they do not comply with the Contest Rules and are illegible, incomplete, forged, falsified, altered or tampered with in any way.
    Langara College and contest administrators assume no liability or responsibility for any personal injury or property damage as a result of the Winner’s collection of the Grand Prize and/or other prizes as part of this Contest, inclusive but not limited to transportation and hotel stay. Langara College is not responsible for any technical malfunctions or human errors that may occur in the processing of the Contest. Langara College assumes no responsibility for any unauthorized access or alteration of Entries.

    These are the official Contest Rules. This Contest is subject to all federal, provincial and municipal laws and regulations. These Contest Rules are subject to change without notice in order to comply with any applicable federal, provincial and municipal laws or the policy of any other entity having jurisdiction over Langara College.
    Langara College reserves the right to amend or terminate all or any portion of this Contest at any time for any reason without prior notice.
