In partnership with Musqueam, Langara College successfully launched a new initiative: Indigenous Upgrading program (I.UP). The goal of the program is to develop an upgrading curriculum that facilitates successful transition of students who have yet to complete their high school education. The focus of the program is to prepare students academically to take in post-secondary studies at Langara while incorporating Musqueam knowledge, learning and teaching methods. This research-based project received funding from the Natural Science and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC), a $100,000 contribution from the RBC Foundation, and additional funding from private donors. The Foundation and the College are proud to be a part of this act of reconciliation and knowledge sharing.
